Zelenskyy to visit US Capitol on Thursday

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit the Capitol on Thursday as part of his visit to the United States.

Details: During the visit, the president of Ukraine will meet with lawmakers from the Democratic and Republican parties.

Zelenskyy is in the US to present his Victory Plan to US President Joe Biden. He also wants to introduce it to presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. 

Background: 

• Bloomberg has reported that some Western officials have tried to lower expectations of the Victory Plan, saying that they do not see it as a breakthrough.
• While in the US, Zelenskyy stated that he considered the war to be "closer to the end" than many think and urged the allies to strengthen the Ukrainian army.
