President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who announced a new energy aid package.

Details: The President’s Office reported that the topics of discussion included cooperation with partners in the G7 and the EU to create a practical mechanism that would enable the recovery of US$50 billion by using the proceeds from frozen Russian assets.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also spoke about the current situation in the energy sector. Fumio Kishida said that Japan was preparing a new energy aid package that would include transformers, generators and other equipment.
