Petr Pavel, President of Czechia, believes that Ukraine should accept the possibility of some of its territories being "temporarily" under Russian control after the war is over.

Details: Pavel said that Ukraine "should be realistic" about its prospects for reclaiming the territories occupied by Russia.

"The most probable outcome of the war will be that a part of Ukrainian territory will be under Russian occupation, temporarily," the Czech president said, adding that this "temporary" state could last for years.

In his opinion, in the current situation, it is impossible to talk about a defeat of Ukraine or Russia, "so the end [of the war – ed.] will be somewhere in between".

Pavel said there are "a number of examples" of territories temporarily held by Moscow. He did not specify what he meant.

The Czech president's position is consistent. He has already said that he believes a temporary "compromise" on the Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia is acceptable if it allows the war to be stopped.

Earlier, Petr Pavel also shared his thoughts on when Russia's war against Ukraine might end.
