Russians turn Ukraine's Kinburn Spit into combat zone: fires destroy natural reserve

Fires periodically rage on the territory of the Kinburn Spit reserve in Mykolaiv Oblast as a result of hostilities.

Details: Pletenchuk said that, unfortunately, the Russian troops are indifferent to the fact that the Kinburn Spit is a nature reserve and an important natural resource. They have set up their positions there and periodically carry out shelling.

They mostly affect the southern part of Mykolaiv Oblast, the Dnipro-Bug Estuary and Kherson Oblast.

Quote: "Of course, in this case, this territory becomes a war zone, and they (the Russians – ed.) will get a response. As a result, fires and forest fires can occur. Therefore, unfortunately, such facts are happening, because now it is actually a quite active combat zone".
