Explosions heard in Sumy

Explosions were heard in the city of Sumy on the night of 17-18 September.

Details: The Air Force warned residents that guided bombs were launched on Sumy Oblast at around 03:00. 

Following the warning, local residents reported hearing explosions in the city of Sumy.

Background:

• On the evening of 17 September, Russian forces launched attack drones into Ukraine.
• Air defence systems were responding in Kyiv Oblast.
• Explosions were also heard in the city of Kropyvnytskyi.
