Explosions heard in Kyiv as air defence responds on city outskirts

Explosions were heard in the city of Kyiv on the night of 17-18 September.

Details: Serhii Popko, Head of Kyiv City Military Administration, reported that air defence systems were responding near Kyiv.

He urged residents to stay in shelters until the all-clear is given. 

The Air Force had previously warned residents that a Shahed drone was heading toward Kyiv, adding that air defence systems may be responding.

• On the evening of 17 September, Russian forces launched attack drones into Ukraine.
• Air defence systems were responding in Kyiv Oblast.
• Explosions were also heard in the city of Kropyvnytskyi.
