Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk has said that there was a misunderstanding at the Krakow airport where he was detained and thanked Ukrainian diplomats for their support.

  • Usyk, WBC, WBO, WBA and IBO world heavyweight champion, was detained by police at Krakow airport on the evening of 17 September.
  • After midnight, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke to Usyk and said that he had been released.
