Her Swedish counterpart stressed that the use of weapons is not limited to the territory of Ukraine. They can also be used to strike Russian territory.
Background:
- In recent weeks, Ukraine has been calling on its allies to lift all restrictions on strikes using their long-range weapons in Russia, explaining that this would allow Ukraine to target aircraft that launch cruise missiles and guided aerial bombs.
- On 10 September, US President Joe Biden hinted that the US might lift restrictions on Ukraine's use of long-range weapons in Russia.
- This issue is reportedly planned to be discussed during a meeting between UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and US President Joe Biden at the White House this Friday.
