Ukrenergo company reveals plan for sustainable energy system: billions of dollars needed
Ukraine should install more than 12 GW of capacity in the coming years to create a defence against potential attacks, which will cost it €12-13 billion.

Quote: "To build a system that is resistant to possible attacks in the next few years, Ukraine will need: 4 GW of capacity of new wind power plants, 3.8 GW of solar power plants, 1.4 GW of gas generation capacity, 1.1 GW of capacity of new thermal power plants on biofuel and 0.8 GW of capacity of energy storage units," Kudrytskyi said.
All of this will cost approximately €12-13 billion to build. The head of the energy company feels that large-scale improvements cannot be implemented without the involvement of private businesses.
"As a result, economic conditions are required for businesses and communities to be interested in developing a new decentralised energy system," he said.
