"Violation of the border": Russia says it’s sending reserves to Kursk Oblast

The Russian Ministry of Defence has said that it has deployed reserve troops to the Russian-Ukrainian border in Kursk Oblast.

Details: The Russian Defence Ministry said that 300 Ukrainian soldiers, 11 tanks and more than 20 armoured personnel carriers attacked Russian units near the Russian state border in Kursk Oblast.

The ministry claimed that the assault was launched at 08:00 Moscow time on 6 August and targeted the "units covering the state border of the Russian Federation in the vicinity of the towns of Nikolayevo-Daryino and Oleshnya in Kursk Oblast, directly adjacent to the Russian-Ukrainian border."

Russian border forces and border guard units of the Russian Federal Security Service are allegedly repelling the Ukrainian attack.
