Number of casualties in Russian attack on central Kharkiv rises to 8, including newborn – photos, video
Eight civilians, including an eight-months-old baby, have been injured as a result of a Russian attack on the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city of Kharkiv with an Iskander missile. A fire broke out at the site of the Russian missile strike. Rescue workers were able to save five civilians from under the rubble of the damaged building.

Quote from Syniehubov: "The attack on Kharkiv’s Shevchenkivskyi district: around 10 in the morning, [Russian] occupation forces targeted the area with an Iskander missile. Doctors treated at least five injured civilians. Two women have been hospitalised for surgery and the rest were treated on an outpatient basis."
Updated: Ukraine’s National Police later reported that eight civilians were injured in the attack. According to the Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, Russian occupation forces targeted a residential neighbourhood.
"According to early reports, eight civilians were injured. Two women aged 69 and 36 and an 8-year-old boy suffered an acute stress response. Another four women aged 50, 44, 70 and 30 and a 35-year-old man sustained injuries and are currently being treated," the Prosecutor’s Office said.

The Russian attack also damaged several civilian infrastructure facilities: a health centre, office buildings, a university dormitory, and several non-residential buildings. Windows were shattered in several multi-storey apartment blocks. More than 25 cars were also damaged.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said that a fire broke out at the site of the missile strike and that emergency workers were able to rescue five people from the rubble. Firefighters are still extinguishing the fire and rescue and search operations are ongoing.
Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War said that the Russian missile struck an area near their Kharkiv consultation centre. The building sustained minor damage: its windows were shattered. None of the staff or visitors were injured.
Background: On 6 August, Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Oblast Military Administration, said that Russian forces struck central Kharkiv that morning, damaging a health centre.
