Russia has lost more than 585,000 soldiers in total in its war against Ukraine

Russia continues to suffer losses in its war of aggression against Ukraine, losing more than 1,000 soldiers, 39 artillery systems, 8 armoured combat vehicles and 4 tanks over the past day alone.

Details: The total combat losses of the Russian forces between 24 February 2022 and 6 August 2024 are estimated to be as follows [figures in parentheses represent the latest losses – ed.]:  

• approximately 585,140 (+1,050) military personnel;
• 8,421 (+4) tanks;
• 16,294 (+8) armoured combat vehicles;
• 16,384 (+39) artillery systems;
• 1,138 (+0) multiple-launch rocket systems;
• 910 (+0) air defence systems;
• 365 (+0) fixed-wing aircraft;
• 326 (+0) helicopters;
• 13,158 (+36) strategic and tactical UAVs;
• 2,420 (+6) cruise missiles;
• 28 (+0) ships and boats;
• 1 (+0) submarines;
• 22,148 (+54) vehicles and tankers;
• 2,738 (+1) special vehicles and other equipment.
