"The peculiarity of the Kursk NPP is that RBMK type reactors operate there. Due to their construction RBMKs have no protective layer or container many reactors of other types worldwide are equipped with," Grossi said at a press conference following his visit to the Kursk NPP.

He noted that he had allegedly seen the traces of drone attack on the premises of the Kursk NPP, and the core is basically located in a regular building and is very vulnerable to artillery or drone strikes.

A provision on the protection of the Kursk NPP will be worded following the visit, as reported by Russian media outlets.
