Russia is in the process of rewording its doctrine on nuclear weapons use – Russian Foreign Minister

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said at a press conference that Russia is changing the wording of its doctrine on the use of nuclear weapons to provide more clarity.

Details: Lavrov said that Russia "has its own doctrine of the use of nuclear weapons", which is "now being clarified". He stressed that "American politicians are very well aware of this doctrine".

Background: On 19 August, Lavrov ruled out the possibility of talks with Ukraine after the start of the Ukrainian offensive in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.
