Indian PM talks to Biden after visit to Ukraine

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he discussed the situation in Ukraine with US President Joe Biden in a telephone conversation after his visit to Ukraine.

Details: Modi said he had reiterated India's full support for the speedy restoration of peace and stability.

Background: 

• On 23 August, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ukraine. This was the first official visit by an Indian prime minister since Ukraine’s independence was proclaimed in 1991.
• During Narendra Modi's visit to Ukraine, agreements were formalised regarding cooperation between Ukraine and India in the medical, agricultural, humanitarian and cultural spheres.
