Eight civilians injured in Russian attacks on Donetsk Oblast

Russian forces continued targeting Donetsk Oblast on 22 August, with a total of eight people injured in the Kramatorsk, Pokrovsk and Bakhmut districts.

Quote: "The investigation states that Russian troops fired on the Kramatorsk, Pokrovsk and Bakhmut districts on 22 August 2024. The enemy launched an airstrike, likely using a KAB-250 aerial bomb, on the village of Pleshchiiivka, Illinivka hromada. [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a village, several villages, or a town, and their adjacent territories – ed.]

The occupiers targeted a private residential area, where a couple - a 66-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man, as well as their 85-year-old neighbour - were rescued from under the rubble of two houses. All of them were taken to hospital with head wounds, broken ribs and bruises. A 47-year-old civilian was injured in another house."

Details: In addition, as a result of an artillery attack on Kostiantynivka, two women aged 49 and 31 sustained injuries to their legs and chest.

The Russians also shelled a residential area of Toretsk with artillery, wounding a 70-year-old woman. Another 65-year-old civilian was injured in Novohrodivka during an attack.
