A fire has broken out on a railway ferry loaded with fuel in the port of Kavkaz in Krasnodar Krai, southwestern Russia. Russian media outlets and Telegram channels say the fire was caused by a Ukrainian missile strike.

Quote from Krymskiy Veter: “Our source at the Port of Kerch reports that the Conro Trader, a ferry which had been loaded with railway tank wagons containing fuel, has been hit in Port Kavkaz.”

Details: Russian media outlets have quoted the region's operational headquarters as saying that a railway ferry loaded with fuel tanks has been attacked in Port Kavkaz. Emergency and special services are working at the scene.

Meanwhile, videos posted on social media show a blaze and thick, tall smoke. Port Kavkaz is located on the Chushka Spit on the Kerch Strait.

There are also reports that the Crimean Bridge has been temporarily closed to traffic since 16:29.

The Ukrainian military leadership has not yet commented on the situation.
