Ukrainian soldiers take part in Soldiers' Day parade in Toronto for the first time – photos
Oleh Nikolenko, Consul General of Ukraine in Toronto, said that for the first time in history, Ukrainian soldiers took part in the Soldiers' Day parade, which has been held for over 100 years in Toronto, Canada's largest city, as a sign of gratitude and respect for the Canadian army.

Details: Nikolenko said that this year Ukrainian soldiers carrying the Ukrainian flag took part in the Toronto Soldiers' Day parade for the first time. The parade has been held since 1921 in honour of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Quote: "The invitation of Ukraine to participate this year is a recognition of strong friendship between our countries... I am extremely proud that we have managed to implement this important project. I am grateful to our soldiers for their participation and to the management of the Canadian National Exhibition for this opportunity."
Background:
- Earlier, the Canadian government confirmed that Ukraine can freely use tanks, armoured vehicles and other equipment donated by Canada on the territory of Russia.
- Also, the Federal Court of Canada rejected a request by a Russian oligarch to lift the sanctions imposed on him in connection with the Russian war against Ukraine.
