Ukrainian and Russian forces clash 84 times since beginning of day, mainly on Lyman and Pokrovsk fronts

Russian forces have been stepping up their offensive on the Lyman and Pokrovsk fronts since the beginning of 5 July.

Details: The number of combat engagements along the entire war zone has increased to 84 since the beginning of the day.

Ukrainian forces repelled two Russian attacks near the settlement of Hlyboke on the Kharkiv front and two Russian assaults on the Kupiansk front.

On the Lyman front, the Russians launched 17 attacks on Ukrainian positions over the day. Three Russian attacks failed on the Kramatorsk front, and nine were repelled on the Toretsk front.

"The largest number of combat engagements took place on the Pokrovsk front. Since the beginning of the day, the invaders have mounted 29 attempts to force our defenders from their positions near [the settlements of] Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Novoselivka Persha, Yasnobrodivka and Netailove," Ukraine’s General Staff noted.

Ukrainian defenders repelled six Russian attacks on the Kurakhove front, three assaults near the settlement of Kostiantynivka and two near the village of Vodiane on the Vremivka front.
