Populists win seats in UK Parliament for first time: their leader made controversial remarks about Ukraine

The populist Reform UK party of Nigel Farage, known for his controversial remarks about Ukraine, has gained seats in the House of Commons for the first time following snap elections in the United Kingdom.

Farage won in his constituency of Clacton in the east of England, previously represented by a Conservative Party MP. His Conservative rival came in second place.

This is Farage's first successful attempt to win a seat in the UK parliament out of a total of eight attempts.

First, the victory of Reform UK's Lee Anderson in the Ashfield constituency near Nottingham in the English Midlands was confirmed, followed by the victory of two more of Farage's party allies.
