Russia has lost 576,000 soldiers in its war against Ukraine

Ukraine’s defence forces continue to inflict losses on Russia. It has lost 1,310 soldiers and 74 artillery systems over the past day alone.

Details: The total combat losses of the Russian forces between 24 February 2022 and 29 July 2024 are estimated to be as follows [figures in parentheses represent the latest losses – ed.]: 

  • approximately 576,000 (+1,310) military personnel;
  • 8,356 (+12) tanks;
  • 16,103 (+8) armoured combat vehicles;
  • 16,010 (+74) artillery systems;
  • 1,129 (+2) multiple-launch rocket systems;
  • 906 (+0) air defence systems;
  • 363 (+0) fixed-wing aircraft;
  • 326 (+0) helicopters;
  • 12,805 (+39) strategic and tactical UAVs;
  • 2,406 (+1) cruise missiles;
  • 28 (+0) ships and boats;
  • 1 (+0) submarines;
  • 21,634 (+62) vehicles and tankers;
  • 2,690 (+19) special vehicles and other equipment.
