Zelenskyy briefed on former MP Iryna Farion's murder: theories being investigated include Russian involvement
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that he received the latest reports on the murder of former MP Iryna Farion on the morning of 20 July and all lines of enquiry are being investigated, including the theory that Russia and its secret services were involved.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "This morning Ihor Klymenko, Minister of Internal Affairs, and Vasyl Maliuk, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, presented the latest reports on the investigation into Iryna Farion's murder.
[Footage from] all available surveillance cameras is being checked, witnesses are being interviewed, and the territory of several districts is being inspected. All lines of enquiry are being investigated, including the one leading to Russia."
Details: Zelenskyy added that the interior minister, the deputy general prosecutors and the heads of the National Police and the Security Service are all in Lviv.
Background:
- On the evening of 19 July, an attempt was made on the life of former MP Iryna Farion on Masaryk Street in Lviv.
- After the attempted assassination, Zelenskyy said Klymenko and Maliuk would report to him promptly on the search for the attacker.
- Farion later died in hospital.
