Musician Mykola Lenok who performed at Kyiv's Wild Theatre killed in action near Chasiv Yar – photos
Mykola Lenok, a Ukrainian musician who worked with the Wild Theatre in Kyiv, has been killed in combat in Donetsk Oblast.
The Wild Theatre reported this on Facebook.
"It is with great sadness that we announce that our accordion player, Mykola Lenok, who was a regular member of the trio of musicians in the play Red, Black and Red Again, has been killed on the battlefield near Chasiv Yar," the theatre's post says.
Red, Black and Red Again, a play in the style of an anarchic Western, premiered at the Wild Theatre in 2020, directed by Maksym Holenko.
Mykola Lenok joined the ranks of Ukraine's Armed Forces when the full-scale invasion began. In 2022, he worked as a combat medic in the 136th Territorial Defence Battalion of Brovary. He later joined a musical ensemble within his military unit.
Mykola is survived by his wife and two sons, 11-year-old Nazar and 2-year-old Bohdan.
