He added that his political force remained united in support while still in Ukraine and that he spoke with Zelenskyy over the phone shortly after becoming prime minister last week.

According to Starmer, the discussion centred on Ukraine's future needs.

Quote: "It is important for us today to make sure, together with allies, that there is agreement on this support and that it must be strengthened," the prime minister said.

"This is also a message for Putin: NATO's resolve is stronger than ever, and NATO is united more than ever in history and is also absolutely aware of what Russian aggression is," Starmer asserted.

Earlier, Keir Starmer indicated that Ukraine could use UK-supplied Storm Shadow missiles to hit military targets inside Russia.

Labour Party leader Keir Starmer was officially appointed as the United Kingdom's new prime minister following a meeting with King Charles last week.

On the same day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with Starmer, who assured the president of his unwavering support for Ukraine.
