Switzerland to provide over US$11 million for needs of Ukrainian Railways

Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) will receive rail fasteners worth 10 million Swiss francs (about $11.1 million) under the grant agreement between Ukraine and Switzerland.

Details: According to Melnychuk, the Cabinet accepted the draft supplementary agreement No 1 to the Grant Agreement between Ukraine and Switzerland about an emergency support initiative to rebuild and restore Ukraine's railway infrastructure.

"The supplementary agreement provides grant assistance to the Swiss government to continue the implementation of the emergency support project to improve and restore the railway infrastructure of Ukraine, and outlines the conditions for attracting grant assistance," said Melnychuk.

The grant funding of 10 million Swiss francs will be utilised to acquire rail fasteners from a Swiss supplier for usage by Ukrzaliznytsia.
