Prokudin said the charity Save Ukraine had helped to bring the children back.

The charity said its team had brought three children back from the occupied territories, one of whom is deprived of parental care.

This latest operation to rescue Ukrainian children was particularly difficult due to the thorough document checks that the Russians conducted at each checkpoint.

Quote from Save Ukraine: "Even moments like these are not obstacles. All these difficulties are definitely worth going through for the smiles that appear every time rescued children see our blue and yellow flag."

Save Ukraine says that since its launch, the team has brought 359 Ukrainian children back home.

Background: On 2 June, five children from the Novopetriv orphanage were brought back to Mykolaiv. They had been forcibly deported to Krasnodar Krai, Russia, by the Russian military in 2022.
