Quote: "The Russians have allocated US$15 million to implement a new large-scale campaign against Ukraine. The Russian Chekist agents have already received instructions to organise the paid production and dissemination of relevant materials in the media discourse of Ukraine and Western countries. [Chekists was the name given in Soviet times to the state security officers who replaced the All-Russian Emergency Commission. Employees of the modern Russian FSB are also often referred to as Chekists – ed.]

We are also talking about a number of articles and ‘films’, in which they are specifically planning to disclose DIU data involved in the coordination of the combat efforts of special units of the Ukrainian defence forces."

Details: Ukrainian intelligence noted that the purpose of Russia's latest information attack is to:

  • discredit Ukrainian special units, their officers and staff;
  • block the work of agencies that develop and execute combat and special tasks against Moscow;
  • create another factor of social tension in Ukraine.
