Russia launches missiles on Kyiv from north, Ukrainian air defence responds

Air-raid warnings were issued in Kyiv and Ukraine's northern regions after Russia launched missiles. Air defence systems in Kyiv Oblast have been activated.

Details: An air-raid warning was issued in Kyiv and several oblasts in Ukraine’s north.

Quote from the Air Force: "Possibly a cruise missile from the north!"

Updated: At 19:36, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said that air defence systems in Kyiv Oblast have been activated.

Ukrainska Pravda reporters say they heard explosions in Kyiv.

At 19:46, Klitschko said emergency response services were asked to respond to an emergency in Kyiv’s Obolonskyi district.

"All the relevant services are heading to the site! Details [will come] later," Klitschko added.
