UK Reform party leader denies sympathies for "dangerously clever" Putin
Nigel Farage, leader of the British Eurosceptic party Reform UK, has insisted that his alleged sympathies for Vladimir Putin are a "Russian hoax".

Details: Farage avoided giving a straight answer to a question about his attitude to Putin, stating that both the Labour and Conservative parties are "worried" about the war in Ukraine.
Quote from Farage: "I was opposed to the Iraq War. I thought it was absolutely crazy to go into Libya. Ten years ago, I stood up in the European Parliament and I said, you are giving a dangerous man an excuse to give his people to go to war. I said there will be a war in Ukraine."
He added that he considers Putin a "very, very dangerous and dangerously clever man".
"I abhor what he's done in Ukraine, totally and utterly. But I was far-sighted. I saw this coming," Farage said.
The Reform UK leader also denied that Russia might interfere in the UK elections for his benefit.
Nigel Farage has made a number of controversial remarks about Putin and Ukraine in recent days, including claims that the West provoked the full-scale Russian invasion and that Ukraine should consider peace talks with Russia, "otherwise there will be no young men left".
Farage's party has risen sharply in the polls ahead of the UK parliamentary elections, although the nature of the electoral system means Reform UK is not predicted to win a significant number of seats.
