John Kirby, White House National Security Communications Advisor, has stated that the participation of US Vice President Harris in the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland instead of President Biden does not mean a lower level of US support for Ukraine.

Details: Kirby stated that "there hasn’t been any single leader around the world who has supported Ukraine more and more stridently than Joe Biden".

Kirby stressed that the US being represented at the conference in Switzerland by Vice President Kamala Harris shows that American support for Ukraine remains unchanged.

The advisor also said there is no other nation which has done as much for Ukraine and its ability to fight back against Russia as the United States, adding that the US supports the Ukrainian Peace Formula.

Earlier the White House announced that the US will be represented by Vice President Harris and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan at the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.

Ukraine was hoping until the last moment that the summit would be attended by US President Joe Biden, who will be busy with pre-election events in California at the time.

In total, 107 countries and organisations have confirmed their participation in the summit.
