Environmental officers calculate losses from destruction of Epicentr hypermarket in Kharkiv
The destruction of the Epicentr home improvement hypermarket in the city of Kharkiv by the Russians on 25 May has led to considerable air and land pollution, the losses from which are estimated to be about 860 million hryvnias (US$21.03 million).

Details: Environmental experts estimate that the damages caused by fugitive emissions of pollutants into the atmospheric air are equal to 4.23 million hryvnias (US$98,000).
"Moreover, the destruction of the building of the hypermarket led to the pollution of land resources, which caused additional ecological losses. The inspection estimated the damage caused by the contamination of land resources at 855.9 million hryvnias (US$20.9 million)," the statement reads.
The experts added that the reports and calculations of the damages were handed over to law enforcement bodies for further investigation.
