Quote: "This is not yet the 53rd exchange; it is not over. The operation is ongoing. Ninety of our defenders have already been brought back as part of this operation. But this is not the latest news. We do expect to provide further information soon. The work is ongoing."
Details: According to Yusov, each prisoner exchange is complicated because Russia disregards international law and the Geneva Conventions.
Background: On 25 June, 90 Ukrainian soldiers returned to Ukraine from Russian captivity. Among them are troops from the National Guard, Navy, Armed Forces, Territorial Defence Forces, and Border Guard; defenders of Mariupol and the Chornobyl Plant; and soldiers captured on the Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Luhansk fronts.
