Russians have damaged more than 345 agricultural businesses in Donetsk Oblast since beginning of full-scale war in Ukraine
Russian troops have damaged the property of 345 agricultural businesses in Donetsk Oblast since the beginning of the full-scale war. That's more than half of businesses that remained in the area before the Russian invasion in 2022.

Details: He said that 345 agricultural businesses had more than 3,600 pieces of equipment destroyed or damaged, including 133 combine harvesters and 503 tractors. Chahan also noted that at the beginning of 2022, 1,223 agricultural businesses, including 851 farms, were operating in the government-controlled territory of Donetsk Oblast. But after the full-scale invasion, 512 businesses were left operating in the region.
In addition, only four processing companies and seven livestock businesses were able to relocate their production. In total, the estimated losses in the oblast's agriculture have already exceeded UAH 5 billion (US$123 million).
"Crop production suffered the most, with losses of more than UAH 3 billion (US$74 million), and livestock production about UAH 1.1 billion (US$27 million). At the same time, it is impossible to calculate the biggest losses – on the contact line and in the occupied territories – at the moment," Chahan added.
Background:
In June, farmers were paid compensation for May for the purchased Ukrainian agricultural machinery worth UAH 18.6 million (roughly US$ 458,000).
