Belarus decides to conduct surprise inspection of its troops – map
The Belarusian Ministry of Defence has said that on 21 June it began an unannounced inspection of its troops, including missile, air force and air defence forces, in the regions bordering Ukraine and Poland.

Quote: "An unannounced inspection of the readiness of formations and military units of the armed forces to fulfil their assigned tasks has begun. Military units and subdivisions of operational commands, special operations forces, missile and artillery forces, air force and air defence forces are involved in the inspection."
Details: The first stage reportedly aims to work out the issues of operational occupation of the designated areas, their preparation in terms of engineering, organisation of security and defence, and taking up combat duty.
After that, military units and subdivisions will have to perform combat training tasks.
"The inspection will involve training grounds and areas in Brest and Gomel oblasts. During this period, there may be movement of military equipment on public roads," the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
Gomel Oblast borders Ukraine, while Brest Oblast borders Ukraine and Poland.

- On 11 June, Russia launched the second stage of exercises for its non-strategic nuclear forces. Belarus also joined the exercise.
- On 20 June, the State Border Committee of Belarus announced that it had detected an increase in the number of Ukrainian troops on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border; Ukrainian border guards stressed that the defence forces were defending their sovereign territory from the aggressor and that there were no provocations.
