"Cut his head off and put it on a stake" – Russian commander in an intercepted conversation

Ukrainska Pravda has obtained a recording of an intercepted conversation in which a Russian commander orders his subordinates to behead a Ukrainian soldier in Donetsk Oblast.

Details: The audio was recorded on 17 June 2024, near the village of Staromaiorske in the Volnovakha district, Donetsk Oblast.

In the recording, commanders from a Russian unit order their subordinates not to take Ukrainian soldiers prisoner but to decapitate them.

A commander swears and demands that his soldiers behead a Ukrainian soldier and put it on a stake to intimidate other Ukrainian soldiers.

Quote from the Russian commander: "F**king [take] the American guns. Take everything: documents, money, f**king take it. Gold, diamonds, pull out his teeth, cut off his head, and bring it to me."
