Quote: "On 20 June in Brussels Serhii Derkach, Deputy Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, and Adina-Ioana Vălean, EU Commissar for Transport, signed the extension of the agreement on freight liberalisation between Ukraine and the EU."

This agreement will be valid for at least a year with the possibility of automatic extension until the end of 2025.

Besides extending the agreement, the updated document provides for a number of commitments for both Ukrainian and European hauliers.

Specifically, all drivers will be obliged to have documents confirming they have a transportation licence. In addition to this, all the lorries, which carry out transportation under the conditions of the agreement, must be specifically marked.

Another innovation is the supporting documents for empty lorries leaving Ukraine to be loaded with goods in EU countries.
