A total of seven power engineers have been injured in recent Russian attacks on two Ukrainian power facilities.

Details: It was reported that one of them is in serious condition.

"They were sent to hospital by ambulance with injuries of varying severity," the Ministry said. 

Background:

  • On the night of 19-20 June, Russian forces attacked a thermal power plant, which resulted in three power engineers being injured and serious damage caused to the plant's equipment.
  • Earlier, Ukrenergo, Ukraine’s national power company, reported that civilian energy infrastructure facilities in four of Ukraine’s oblasts were damaged in the Russian attack on the night of 19-20 June. This refers to Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Kyiv oblasts.
