Russians report attack by 15 drones on refinery and oil depot in Russia, fires erupt – photos

Russian Telegram channels have reported that drones have attacked the Afipsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai and an oil depot in the Russian republic of Adygea. Later, Murat Kumpilov, Head of the Republic of Adygea, confirmed this information.

Details: Baza reported that the attack on the plant began around 02:30 (local time).

Early reports indicate that the drones were downed, but the wreckage from one of the UAVs crashed into a storage tank, causing a fire.

Astra wrote that residents of the village of Enem in Adygea and the village of Afipsky in Krasnodar Krai reported explosions and fires.

Telegram channels added that there was no official information available at first.

Updated: Later, Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters stated that "information about a fire at the Afipsky oil refinery is not accurate". 

However, Russian emergency services reported receiving four complaints from residents about explosions in the village of Afipsky in Krasnodar Krai.

Updated: In the morning, Russian Kremlin-aligned media outlet RIA Novosti claimed that Russian air defence systems had intercepted and destroyed 15 Ukrainian drones overnight over the Republic of Adygea, Krasnodar Krai, Bryansk, Rostov, Belgorod and Oryol Oblasts. 

RIA Novosti did not mention possible hits or fires resulting from these attacks.

Later, Kumpilov confirmed the information about the attack. 

Quote from Kumpilov: "A fire occurred this morning at an oil depot in the village of Enem, Takhtamukaysk district, as a result of a drone attack."

Details: He stated that the fire, covering an area of 400 square metres, was extinguished by 06:00, claiming that there were no casualties.
