Zelenskyy at meeting with US vice president: We have started implementing security agreement with US
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed his gratitude to the United States for the concluded bilateral security agreement on the occasion of his meeting with US Vice President Kamala Harris on the sidelines of the Global Peace Summit in the Swiss city of Bürgenstock.

Details: At the beginning of the meeting, Zelenskyy thanked US President Joe Biden's administration and the United States for the security agreement concluded earlier this week.
"Today, we can already say that our teams have begun to implement it," the president said, adding that it is about strengthening the security of Ukraine, the whole of Europe, "and therefore the United States."
Zelenskyy also expressed gratitude to the US Congress for approving the funding, thus unblocking military assistance for Ukraine.
In turn, Kamala Harris stressed that the United States supports Ukraine "not out of charity, but because the people of Ukraine and their future are in our strategic interests".
In addition, the US vice president announced the allocation of over US$1.5 billion for Ukraine's humanitarian and energy needs, which the White House had previously unveiled.
Background: On 13 June, presidents Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement aimed at strengthening Kyiv's defence capabilities.
