Zelenskyy on mobilisation: If we want to keep our state, we must defend it

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has commented on the increasing mobilisation in Ukraine and the reaction of the public, saying that if Ukrainians want to keep the state, they must defend it.

Quote: "I’m completely clear-eyed concerning the issue of mobilisation, because it has been ongoing since the beginning of the war.

I see that this is an issue for the society, and it’s not the first day of the war, but if we want to keep our state, we must defend it."

Details: According to Zelenskyy, it is critical for European countries that pro-Russian and Russian slogans do not spread and find traction in a democratic Europe.

The president stated that convening a conference on Ukraine's restoration in Berlin is a triumph, as Russia is currently attempting to disrupt the peace summit in Switzerland. The aggressor country is attempting to assemble countries and host its own gathering regarding the war in Ukraine.

• Ukraine's Defence Ministry presented the Reserve+ app, which allows users to update their military service records, on 17 May.
• The mobilisation law came into force on 18 May. Its full title is On amendments to certain legislative acts of Ukraine on particular issues relating to military service, mobilisation and military registration.
• The law stipulates that persons liable for military service aged 25 to 60 are subject to mobilisation.
• On 31 May, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that mobilisation rates in Ukraine have increased since the law on mobilisation came into force.
