Ukrainian and Japanese companies sign 23 memoranda of economic cooperation

Ukrainian and Japanese companies have signed 23 memoranda of economic cooperation ahead of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024 (URC2024).

Details: In particular, Ukraine and Japan will deepen cooperation in the following areas:

- infrastructure recovery and green building;
- the energy sector;
- the agricultural sector and modernisation of agricultural machinery;
- development of drones for mine clearance purposes;
- funding the building of affordable housing, and more.
Japan also plans to introduce the latest technologies in Ukraine, provide training and develop the potential of Ukrainian specialists. The Japanese External Trade Organisation (JETRO) has decided to open an office in Kyiv.
Background: In the first months of 2024, Japan became the largest donor of financial assistance to Ukraine. The total amount of aid is expected to have reached approximately US$2.2 billion in the first quarter.
