Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi discusses battlefield situation in detail with NATO Military Committee head

Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's Armed Forces, discussed the situation on the battlefield and the needs of the Ukrainian military with Rob Bauer, Chair of the NATO Military Committee, on 10 June.

Details: Syrskyi thanked NATO for their support and noted that he is counting on further expanding cooperation for global security.

Background: 

• Bauer believes that Ukraine should be able to properly defend itself by striking Russia with Western weaponry without having its range limited.
• He also mentioned that NATO leaders will focus on three key issues related to Ukraine at the summit in Washington but will not discuss its membership in NATO or possible accession timetables.
