Details: The Vatican Secretary of State believes that possible attacks by Ukraine on Russia with NATO weapons "should concern all those who care about the fate of our world."
"This could lead to an escalation that no one else can control. This is a very worrying prospect," he added.
Parolin recalled that the Vatican is assisting Ukraine with the repatriation of children to their homeland, among other humanitarian difficulties, and that "there is no other way."
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg asked that the allies review the constraints on Ukraine's ban on using Western weaponry against the Russian Federation in the midst of border fighting in Kharkiv Oblast.
Some European countries have already indicated open support for this strategy, while the United States and Germany, in particular, are opposed.
According to The New York Times, President Joe Biden is approaching a change in position to authorise Ukraine to strike Russian territory with American weaponry.
