Details: The soldiers emphasise that the battle for the town in the Kharkiv sector does not stop for a moment.
The Russians want to take control of Vovchansk but the Defence Forces offer strong resistance. The Russian forces are trying to gain a foothold in the buildings, but the soldiers of the Tsunami assault regiment of the Liut Brigade of the National Police are preventing them from doing so. Ukrainian soldiers are driving the Russians out and conducting the door-to-door mop-up operations.
Quote: "During one of the combat missions, our fighters spotted the occupiers in one of the rooms and immediately opened fire."
Background:
- On 30 May, Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, noted that the Russians continued to amass their troops in the main attack area of the Strilecha-Lyptsi axis and in the area of Vovchansk by deploying additional regiments and brigades from other areas and training grounds.
- The Commander-in-Chief says that these forces are currently insufficient for a full-scale offensive and a breakthrough of the Ukrainian defence on the Kharkiv front.
