Lone dog continues to guard ruins of house after Russian attack – photos
The Ukrainian military has found a dog guarding the ruins of his house.
Source: The photos of the lonely animal were shown by soldiers of the 4th Separate Tank Brigade.
Details: The military told UP.Zhyttia that the dog lives in Lyman, Donetsk Oblast. The red mongrel dog doesn't even have a collar but is faithfully sitting in the house's yard.
Quote: "He was left alone, and after another bombardment, he did not leave his house, guarding the ruins," fighters from the tank brigade said.
His house was probably hit by a cluster munition, which damaged the facade and roof and destroyed the rooms. Nearby, there are similarly destroyed houses with no windows, doors, rooms or roofs.
The military is feeding all the local animals but hopes that animal protection organisations will evacuate them.
Quote: "If you have the opportunity to evacuate them, we can coordinate it," the military adds.
The brigade's contact page on social media is here.
Background: In September 2022, a surviving dog named Krym [Ukrainian for Crimea – ed.] was waiting for his family in the ruins of a house in Dnipro. Its owners were killed in a Russian attack. Unfortunately, the animal's heart could not stand the separation - in a month and a half, it gave out.
