Lithuanian Foreign Minister supports allowing Ukraine to hit targets in Russia with Western weapons

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis believes that Ukraine's Western allies should allow the Ukrainian military to strike targets in Russia.

Details: According to Landsbergis, the Ukrainians should be able to use the equipment provided to them to achieve their strategic goals.

Quote: "They should be able to strike Russian territory, supply lines and troops preparing to attack Ukraine," he said.

"Only one side obeys the rules. We must abandon these rules that we ourselves have created," said the Lithuanian Foreign Minister.

Landsbergis feels Ukraine’s allies made a mistake in restraining the Ukrainians from the start because they were worried an escalation would occur.

He also stated that Western military instructors who were in Ukraine prior to Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022 should return to hasten the training of young Ukrainian troops.

"Lithuania is ready to join, for example, a coalition led by France and train Ukrainian troops in Ukraine," Landsbergis said.
