- Last week, the Wall Street Journal reported that Ukraine had asked the Biden administration to help identify targets in Russia that Kyiv could strike with its own weapons and had separately asked to lift restrictions on the use of US-provided weapons against military targets in Russia.
- Former US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland also believes that Kyiv has a right to strike military targets on Russian Federation soil, and the US and its allies should support the country in doing so.
- At the same time, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin recently expressed his expectation that Kyiv would use the weapons it has been provided with against targets in Ukraine.
