Helicopter with Iranian President on board crashes due to "technical failure" – media

Iranian agency IRNA has reported that the crash of the helicopter with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on board occurred due to a technical failure.

Details: This was stated in a publication with archive photos of the deceased president that he "was martyred on Sunday (19 May, 2024) in a helicopter crash that happened due to technical failure".
Mohammad Bagheri, Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), stated that a military delegation jointly with experts started investigating the cause of the incident on site of the crash. They will be disclosed later.
