Combat in Kharkiv Oblast: Russians continue their assault, intensify shelling
Russian forces in Kharkiv Oblast have continued their assault operations on the Pylne-Lukiantsi and Ohirtseve-Buhruvatka fronts on Sunday, 12 May, intensifying shelling and sending infantry into battle.

Details: According to UP’s sources, as of the morning on 12 May, the Russians continued carrying out attacks with various heavy weapons, including aircraft and anti-aircraft missile systems.
Ukraine's forces are seeing an increase in Russian use of firepower. Also observed was the movement of Russian infantry groups of various sizes.
Quote: "[Ukraine’s forces] are inflicting maximum damage on [the Russians] in order to restrain their advance. The enemy is conducting assault actions on the Pylne-Lukiantsi and Ohirtseve-Buhruvatka fronts."
Background:
- On 10 May, it was reported that Russian forces had intensified their activities in Kharkiv Oblast, with fighting taking place there.
- Ukraine's Defence Ministry reported that reserve units had been sent to the north of Kharkiv Oblast.
