Empty heavy vehicles weighing more than 7.5 tonnes will also be permitted to pass through the Luzhanka-Beregsurány checkpoint under the amended agreement, which was signed by Oleksandr Kubrakov, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration, and Hungarian Ambassador Heizer Antal.

Quote: "We are also considering building a new freight checkpoint [at] Dyida-Beregdaróc to increase the capacity of the Ukrainian-Hungarian border," the Development Ministry’s press service quoted Kubrakov as saying.

Kubrakov added that the Ukrainian government is also negotiating on joint customs and border control with Hungary, which will speed up control procedures and reduce border crossing time.

The amendments to the bilateral agreement have yet to be ratified.
